Standardized names
A library is identified by abbreviation name followed by the plate numbers to produce a unique name. Standardized names should be used in all library transactions.
Our nomenclature follows the NCBI clone nomenclature (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genome/clone/nomen.html ). A plate is identified by its address (plate number) and prefixed by a library abbreviation to produce a unique name. Standardized names should be used in all plate transactions.
A clone is identified by its microtitre plate address (plate number, row, and column) and prefixed by a library abbreviation to produce a unique name. Standardized names should be used in all Clone transactions as well as in GenBank sequence submissions.
